Hosted in one of the worlds best footballing cities, the Manchester May Day Cup is your chance to experience a fantastic end of season football tournament in the heart of the twin club city of Manchester.

The Manchester May Day Cup is an all-inclusive football tournament welcoming academy, club, grass roots & school teams to compete across multiple ages groups and this year is your chance to be a part of the action.

Located in the beautiful suburbs of Manchester, the Manchester May Day Cup will be hosted across various sized natural grass football pitches in our fully exclusive and private sports ground. We couldn’t think of a better or more family-friendly location to help create our one of a kind ISG Events atmosphere!

AGE CATEGORIES
  • U7’s – Born on or after 01/09/2013 – 5v5
  • U8’s – Born on or after 01/09/2012 – 5v5
  • U9’s – Born on or after 01/09/2011 – 7v7
  • U10’s – Born on or after 01/09/2010 – 7v7
  • U11’s – Born on or after 01/09/2009 – 9v9
  • U12’s – Born on or after 01/09/2008 – 9v9
    • Standard English FA Laws Of The Game are applicable in each age category.

      *Players must be born on or after the specified cut off date.

    U7 & U8
    • 5v5
    • Size 3 Ball
    • No offside
    • All free-kicks are direct
    • Goalkeepers cannot handle a ball played to them by a team mate, whether passed or thrown
    • Penalties are awarded for a foul in the penalty area
    • Throw-ins can be underarm if preferred
    • Goal Kicks to be taken anywhere within penalty area
    • Retreat Line – Opposition must retreat to their own half at goal-kicks. 
    U9 & U10
    • 7v7
    • Size 3 Ball (U9) / Size 4 Ball (U10)
    • No offside
    • All free-kicks are direct
    • Goalkeepers cannot handle a ball played to them by a team mate, whether passed or thrown
    • Penalties are awarded for a foul in the penalty area
    • Goal Kicks to be taken anywhere within penalty area
    U11 & U12
    • 9v9
    • Size 4 Ball
    • Introduction of off-side rule 
    • All free-kicks are direct
    • Goalkeepers cannot handle a ball played to them by a team mate, whether passed or thrown
    • Penalties are awarded for a foul in the penalty area
    • Throw-ins can be underarm if preferred
    • Goal Kicks to be taken anywhere within penalty area
    Tournament Structure
    • All coaches must register their team arrival at the Tournament Control Point 45 Minutes before their first kickoff time.
    • Group games will be points based progression with 3 Points for a win, 1 Point for a draw & 0 Points for a loss. At the end of the group stages teams will progress into the relevant finals tier based on final table position.
    • Every team which progresses into the Knockout Stages & Finals of the tournament with games being decided by the following – Most Goals Scored, Penalty Shootout.
    • After the final game of the tournament in your finals group all teams will take part in the ISG Presentation Ceremony where the finalists will collect their Medals & the Champions of the Manchester May Day Cup will be crowned! All players/teams competing at the tournament will be welcomed up on stage to collect their participation certificate to take home.
